Skin Tightening

Sun exposure, skin disorder, aging effects, and heredity can cause skin laxity, particularly in the face. Your skin may lose its firmness, glow, and tone because of these reasons. Your doctor will find the best treatment for you after identifying your concerns to help achieve the desired skin tightening.

You should know that you would require a series of treatments for achieving noninvasive skin tightening. Best results are usually achieved with multi-modality approach. If you want to achieve long lasting results, you should be committed to protecting your skin.

Laser Skin Tightening and Resurfacing

Visible lines, wrinkles, and folds in the face, neck, and other body areas is created because of loss of skin elasticity and volume. Laser skin resurfacing and tightening is an effective noninvasive procedure for reducing the visible signs of aging.

Your sagging skin will get tightened as heat energy from the laser beams penetrate into the deep tissue. This will create a smooth skin appearance. New collagen and elastin fiber formation will also be triggered with precise delivery of laser energy in the deep skin layers.

This will be useful in volumizing your skin in the targeted body area to create youthful and more natural looking results.

Venus Legacy

Venus Legacy delivers pulsed magnetic fields along with multi-polar radiofrequency for noninvasive body contouring and skin tightening. This is a patented 4D technology that combines RealTime Thermal Feedback, Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields (PEMF), Multi-Polar Radio Frequency (RF), and VariPulse technology (VP).

The device produces a soothing and therapeutic heat matrix over the skin for creating a thermal response in the body tissues. This stimulates the body’s natural healing response and regenerates or restores the skin. Patients benefit from softening of wrinkles, reduced cellulite, and tighter skin.

Venus Viva

SmartScan technology and NanoFractional Radio Frequency can be combined for creating a customized treatment plan. Venus Viva can be used for delivering reparative heat without resulting in skin damage in surrounding tissues. The process is useful in activating the natural ability of the body to regenerate and rebuild collagen and elastin.

Acne scars along with other imperfections can be eliminated. The treatment can also be used for correcting skin discolorations and tone imperfections.

Chemical Peels

Skin peels or chemical peels remove the outer skin layers. It helps in minimizing wrinkles and evening the skin tone. These peels have specialized chemical solutions to go deep within the skin layers. Superficial and lighter peels work on the surface.

Chemical peels are useful in obtaining a healthy glow. Deeper peels turn back the time on facial aging by removing acne scars, deep wrinkles, and irregular pigmentation. Chemical peels can be used on the face, hands, neck, and other parts of the body as well depending on your individual needs.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing treatments can be used for rejuvenating the skin from the inside out and treating superficial scars. The treatment can be used to address textural problems, acne scars, pigmentation, wrinkles, liver spots, and fine lines. Collagen production is triggered by most skin resurfacing treatments for increasing cellular turnover.

Highly predictable and customizable results are delivered by laser treatments. This is the gold standard for skin reduction and rejuvenation of certain scar types.

Erbium Laser is useful in treating lax skin, scarring, broken facial vessels, and freckling. It helps in removing old and damaged skin cells, strengthening the middle dermis layer for tighter and smoother appearance, and stimulating collagen production. Minor scarring, broken facial vessels and freckling can be targeted using this treatment.

Venus Viva is a wholesome treatment option for addressing these concerns without any need for plastic surgery.

The procedure is based on SmartScan technology and Nano Fractional Radio Frequency (RF). The treatment’s focus is on achieving immediate and long-term scar treatment and skin enhancement effects.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is the perfect treatment for you if you deal with irritated, rough or dry skin and superficial scarring. The treatment uses a brush for polishing the topmost skin layer that contain dead cells. Microdermabrasion increases blood flow for stimulating collagen. It helps to improve elasticity and create a stronger skin.

Minor irregularities can be improved with this treatment as well, such as sun damage and acne scars. It is useful in improving acne, photoaging, fine lines, age spots, and superficial surgical scars. The process can be used on the neck, chest, back, and hands among other skin areas.

Radiesse Dermal Filler

This dermal filler is created for targeting deeper wrinkles and a few types of acne scars. It immediately lifts the skin and goes a step further for stimulating collagen production and encouraging tissue re-growth. Radiesse facial filler causes continued improvements to take place even when the dermal filler gets absorbed by the body.

The dermal filler can be used in combination with other treatments for optimal results. Reger Vein and Skin Specialists receives patients from The Woodlands, Spring, Houston, TX, and nearby areas for scar treatments and various other medical spa services.

Body Contouring & Cellulite Reduction

Regardless of the shape of your body, diet, skin tone or exercise regimen, losing fatty deposits can become difficult with age. Cellulite tends to develop with age as well. Venus Legacy and Venus Freeze are two unique body and facial contouring treatments that reduce inches. This non-invasive treatment can create slimmer contours and diminish or smooth cellulite.

Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides innovative and advanced body contouring treatment options and various other medical spa services to patients in The Woodlands, Spring, Houston, TX, and surrounding locations.

Understanding Venus Freeze

Venus Freeze is used for treating wrinkles, reducing cellulite, tightening skin and eliminating circumferential fat. The device uses (MP)2 technology, which is a combination of Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Magnetic Fields. It delivers the energy within the skin to produce a uniform and dense heat matrix.

This causes fibroblast proliferation, collagen production and contraction, lipolysis, and neo-vascularity. The treatment allows for a firmer, smoother, and more toned you.

How Does it Work?

Wrinkle Reduction and Skin Tightening

Venus Freeze involves delivering multi-polar radio frequency that creates a thermal response, which activates the natural healing response of the body. New elastin fibers and collagen are formed, which increases the production of fibroblasts. Existing collagen within the skin contracts, while providing a firmer and newer looking skin. It also causes elastin fibers to unravel making the skin more elastic.

Body Contouring and Cellulite Reduction

The body releases stress hormones with an increase the skin temperature. These hormones attach to specific receptors on fat cell membranes present in the deeper layers of the skin. Hormone-sensitive lipase is activated when the stress hormone gets attached to the receptor. Triglycerides are broken down by lipase into free fatty acids. The free fatty acids exit through the bloodstream and reduce the volume of fat cells.

Understanding Venus Legacy

Venus Legacy is a nonsurgical and highly advanced device that resolves aesthetic concerns of the face and body. This includes nonsurgical cellulite reduction, circumferential reduction, wrinkle reduction, and skin tightening. The treatment is comfortable and doesn’t involve any downtime.

Therapeutic heat matrix is produced by Venus Legacy over the skin. Thermal reaction is created under the tissue which stimulates the natural healing response of the body. It increases blood circulation which causes the skin to contract. This creates noticeable skin tightening and a reduction of cellulite. The procedure also decreases localized fat deposits to make the area look firmer and smoother.

Mp2 technology powers Venus Legacy, which is a combination of pulsed electromagnetic fields and multi-polar radiofrequency. It features the Varipulse technology.

There are four applicators on Venus Legacy:

  1. Octipolar
  2. Diamond Polar
  3. 4D Body For Larger Areas
  4. 4D Face For Smaller Areas

Octipolar and Diamond polar applicators are useful in wrinkle reduction and skin tightening. 4D body and 4D face applicators help in temporary cellulite reduction and circumferential reduction. Venus Legacy treatments take about 30 – 40 minutes and are reported by most patients to be a relaxing experience.

Hive Causes

The symptoms of cold urticaria include developing welts or an itchy rash after coming in from cold (especially on exposed skin), swelling of the throat or lips after eating or drinking something frozen, and/or developing an itchy rash or feeling faint after being in cold water.

People with this medical issue develop hives, or welts on their skin (that usually itch) when exposed to the cold. Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides safe, proven, and effective skin care solutions to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding locations.

What are the Other Causes of Hives?

An individual may not get hives each time they encounter something cold. Certain people only develop hives by swimming in cold water or when their skin is exposed to cold wind.

Yet others are particularly sensitive and can develop hives when they enter an air-conditioned building or stand near a freezer in a grocery store.

A majority of people who develop hives from the cold are otherwise healthy. People who develop hives from the cold do not have to necessarily live with the flare-ups. Taking certain precautions may help a person avoid hives. Medicine may be required, as well.

Prior to taking any drugs, it is vital to determine whether a person has cold urticaria.

Cold Urticaria Diagnosis

For people who think they may have cold urticaria, it might be helpful to see a qualified dermatologist. Dermatologists usually diagnose this condition and care for patients who get hives.

The dermatologist will ask the patient about the symptoms they experience when exposed to cold to understand whether they get hives from cold temperatures. The patient should inform their dermatologist if they develop any of these signs and symptoms when exposed to cold:

Correlating with this, the dermatologist may also test the skin to understand how it responds to cold. Some individuals are given the ice cube challenge test where the dermatologist places a plastic bag containing an ice cube on the bare skin, typically the forearm.

Most individuals with cold urticaria develop a welt on their skin after the bag is removed and their skin warms up. It is possible to have cold urticaria even if the patient does not develop a welt from the ice cube challenge test. Therefore, the dermatologist will ask the patient questions and assess their skin.

Treatment Options

Avoiding the reasons for the development of their hives is enough for many people to live comfortably.

In case a person has ever had a serious reaction from the cold, such as inflammation in their throat or passing out, the dermatologist will recommend that they always carry an epinephrine pen. In the event of a serious reaction, injecting themselves with an epinephrine pen could save the patient’s life.

Antihistamine medications help many people with cold urticaria as it can prevent the development of hives as well as symptoms such as itchiness. The dermatologist may prescribe a stronger drug, such as omalizumab if antihistamines are ineffective in preventing hives.

Venus Legacy Body Contouring

For people who seek a reduction in unattractive areas of cellulite and excess fat that are unresponsive to diet and exercise, Venus Legacy presents an effective non-surgical treatment option that can restore natural-looking contours to problematic areas without the involvement of surgery or downtime.

Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides Venus Legacy and other medical spa treatments to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding communities.

What is Venus Legacy?

This cutting-edge treatment combines the advanced VariPulse non-surgical body contouring technology and patented MP2 technology utilizing multi-polar radiofrequency as well as pulsed magnetic fields to go deep into the deeper dermal layers of the skin and address signs of damage and aging from within.

These non-surgical and non-invasive treatments usually take only 30 to 40 minutes of time on an average. They are usually well-tolerated by patients with a majority of patients comparing the sensation to a relaxed hot stone massage.

Venus Legacy can help patients achieve the following:

This treatment offers gentle thermal coagulation beneath the skin’s surface promoting the natural healing response of the skin. The outcomes include tightened collagen fibers, reduced signs of aging due to increased collagen production, and skin contraction to improve the appearance of cellulite.

Is there any recovery time?

The treated sites may appear slightly flushed or pink. However, this advanced blend of energies does not impact the skin tissues or surface.

Therefore, there is usually no downtime associated with the treatment. While significant side-effects rarely occur, the treatment provider will discuss all pertinent safety information with the patient during the consultation.

Good Candidates for Venus Legacy

Scheduling a consultation with the treatment provider for a skin condition assessment is the most suitable way to understand if this treatment is appropriate for an individual.

Women and men with no contradicting health conditions and those who are experiencing noticeable cellulite, wrinkles, and loose skin and want to enhance their contours in a non-surgical manner may be considered good candidates for this treatment.

The treatment outcomes may vary between patients, and it may require many sessions to accomplish specific aesthetic goals. The treatment provider will educate the patient on what to expect during their customized treatment plan.

How does it work?

The innovative VariPulse non-surgical body contouring technology and the patented MP2 technology form the basis for the Venus Legacy body sculpting procedure.

This energy blend uses multi-polar radiofrequency as well as magnetic fields to access deeper dermal layers of the skin and address signs of damage and aging from inside out.

Delivering thermal energy to the deeper skin layers offers both instant and long-term results. It tightens weak collagen fibers for an instantaneous effect. The heat energy promotes the generation of new collagen fibers which will continue to enhance the skin appearance over time in a natural manner.

The appearance of cellulite also reduces on the surface as the collagen production and volumizing occur inside the skin.

Treatment Time

The time taken to complete one session of Venus Legacy can be as little as 30 to 40 minutes. A majority of patients tolerate the treatment without any issues or negative feedback – they know what they are signing up for because of the transparency Dr. Reger offers them. Ideal Venus Legacy candidates also experience the benefits of minimal risk of complications or downtime.

Cellulite Reduction

Bumpy cellulite on the surface of the skin can adversely impact the aesthetics and make a person appear older than their years.

Venus Legacy can effectively treat stubborn cellulite. This procedure is an innovative and revolutionary non-surgical skin tightening technique.

Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides Venus Legacy and other medical spa treatments to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding communities.

Venus Legacy

Dr. Reger provides the cutting-edge Venus Legacy system. This highly effective and safe non-surgical treatment helps reduce the appearance of cellulite.

This system is a unique combination of multi-polar radiofrequency (RF) and pulsed magnetic fields that target underlying fat without causing damage to the surface of the skin.

Upon penetrating the deeper layers of the skin, this blend of energies delivers controlled heat in the underlying tissue to create a coagulating effect.

Targeted thermal exposure helps tighten existing collagen fibers as well as promotes the generation of new collagen in the deeper skin layers.

The appearance of cellulite on the surface diminishes as the collagen production and volumizing occur from within. The time taken for a Venus Legacy session is between 30 to 40 minutes.

A majority of patients tolerate the treatment well and compare it to a hot-stone massage on the skin. Ideal Venus Legacy candidates also benefit from the minimal risk of complications or downtime associated with the treatment.

Dr. Reger and his medical team also offer an array of services for men to target the appearance of cellulite and mitigate other skin and aesthetic issues.

How does it work?

The Venus Legacy procedure for cellulite reduction combines the innovative VariPulse non-surgical body contouring technology with the patented MP2 technology.

This unique combination uses multi-polar radiofrequency as well as pulsed magnetic fields to reach the deeper dermal layers of the skin and address signs of aging and damage from within.

The thermal energy in the deeper layers of the dermis generates instantaneous as well as long-term outcomes. It tightens weakened collagen fibers for an instant effect, and the heat energy encourages the production of fresh collagen fibers.

These new fibers will progressively enhance the appearance of the skin over time in a natural way.

Benefits of Venus Legacy Treatment

The Venus Legacy system not only helps get rid of stubborn cellulite, but it can also be helpful in the:

Recovery

After the Venus Legacy procedure, the treated areas may appear slightly flushed or pink. However, this unique combination of energies does not impact the skin surface or tissues. Consequently, it does not involve any specific downtime.

While severe side-effects are rare, the treatment provider will explain all safety aspects to the patient at the time of the initial consultation. Dr. Gregg Reger receives patients from Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and nearby areas for Venus Legacy and other medical spa treatments.

Hyperpigmentation Treatment

The main reason behind hyperpigmentation is essentially the surplus production of melanin by the body’s melanocyte cells. Various factors stimulate the abnormal rise in the production of melanin. At the time of initial consultation, the treatment provider will explain the potential causes of this condition.

Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides medical spa treatments for hyperpigmentation to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding locations.

Key Causes

Some of the most common reasons for the production of surplus melanin resulting in hyperpigmentation are as follows:

  1. Inflammation Due to Sunlight

Everyone knows that sunlight darkens the skin. However, tanning may not lead to evenly tanned skin. For several people, tanning can cause hyperpigmentation. When the skin is exposed to the ultraviolet radiation of the sun, it generates an inflammatory response. This response occurs immediately on sun exposure.

However, the levels are so negligible that it is not noticeable. If the sun exposure is prolonged, then the level of inflammation increases. Such inflammation in response to sun exposure is the primary reason behind the production of melanin in the skin.

  1. Skin Damage

The skin can sustain damage from anything ranging from a cut to acne. This leads to surplus melanin production. If the skin receives any damage, the body copes with it by initiating an inflammatory response.

This response causes the melanocytes in the skin to activate. Other than an inflammatory response, when the skin is injured, it may be unable to reproduce the skin pigments that were previously there.

  1. Allergic Reactions

When the body experiences an allergic reaction, the skin may undergo an inflammatory response. If the individual is severely allergic to something, the body may go into overdrive when it comes into contact with that matter.

This leads to skin irritation. There are significant chances of the skin displaying inflammatory reactions. For instance, poison ivy could activate melanocyte cells leading to hyperpigmentation.

  1. Medication

There are various medications which may have hyperpigmentation as a side-effect. Antibiotics, hormone meds, topical retinoids, non-steroidal drugs, anti-seizure medications, and chemotherapeutic medicines may lead to hyperpigmentation.

Again, medications may lead to hormonal changes in the body that could cause melanocyte cells to activate. There is a surplus production of melanin once the cells are activated. Numerous medications which have to be taken perforce may have hyperpigmentation as a side-effect.

  1. Hormonal Change

An increase in progesterone and estrogen levels usually due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills can be a cause of hyperpigmentation. Such hormonal changes can lead to more melanin production. The condition where the body produces more melanin due to progesterone or estrogen is called melasma. For several women, hyperpigmentation resolves after the pregnancy. However, this may not be the case for everyone.

  1. Genetics

For several people, DNA influences the presence of hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is genetic, but it may skip generations. If a family member has severe hyperpigmentation, then the chances of a person acquiring it are high.

Dr. Gregg Reger receives patients from Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and nearby areas for hyperpigmentation medical spa treatments.

Restylane

Restylane dermal filler currently ranks among the most popular cosmetic skin care non-surgical procedures. This injectable anti-aging filler has been approved by the FDA, and is in use worldwide for more than 10 years. Compared to many other cosmetic invasive and non-invasive procedures designed for facial rejuvenation, Restylane injections will usually prove to be more cost-effective.

At the time of initial consultation, the filler provider will educate the patient about all aspects of Restylane treatment, including its estimated costs. The provider’s first concern will be to ensure that the patient understands the benefits and limitations of Restylane and is able to make a fair cost and benefit comparison with other medical spa treatment options.

The percipient and successful Dr. Gregg Reger of Reger Vein and Skin Specialists provides Restylane injections to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding locations.

Financial Factors

The price of Restylane cosmetic skin care procedure can differ between two practices due to a number of factors.

Practice Location

The average cost of living of a region is influenced by its real estate costs, median household income, local taxation and other factors. Practices located in main metropolitan areas or prime urban centers will usually have higher overhead expenses compared to a practice located in a small town in an interior region. This will impact the actual cost of services offered by the practice.

Quality Standards

The quality standards and best practices maintained by a practice are likely to affect the overall costs of different procedures to some extent. A practice equipped with cutting edge technology and offering a state of the art treatment environment with personalized care and services, and supported by experienced staff members may charge more than another practice offering relatively basic standards of care.

Extent of Treatment

Cosmetic requirements of each patient are unique. The costs of Restylane can vary according to the amount of surface area of the face to be treated. A treatment provider may charge according to the specific area to be treated, or on the basis of the number of syringes or volume units required for a particular patient.

Other Factors

Sometimes the manufacturer may offer a special rebate on Restylane for a limited time period, or the medical spa may be running a promotion on dermal fillers. Alternatively, some providers may offer a special package price if the patient chooses Restylane in combination with other treatments. Therefore, costs for each individual patient can vary depending on the situation.

Insurance and Financing

Restylane soft tissue filler treatment is typically used as an elective cosmetic procedure, which will not be covered by health insurance. However, the patient will have an option to get the treatment financed if they do not want to make the full payment upfront.

Patients should consider financing through professional medical care finance firms which offer competitive loans along with quick loan approvals, lower interest rates and easy monthly installments of up to 60 months. The committed and accomplished Dr. Reger receives patients from Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and other cities and communities in the powerful state of Texas for Restylane dermal filler injections.

Non-Surgical Face Lift

People considering undergoing facelift surgery to rejuvenate their facial appearance can now enjoy excellent outcomes with a non-surgical alternative known as EuroThreads.

This advanced procedure helps to promote the production of collagen and elastin in skin tissues to mitigate many bothersome signs of facial aging.

Reger Vein and Skin Specialists, led by Dr. Gregg Reger, provides non-surgical facelift and other medical spa treatments to patients in Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and surrounding locations.

What is a EuroThreads non-surgical facelift?

Traditional facelifts involve incisions and leaves behind scars. However, the EuroThreads procedure is undertaken by inserting absorbable sutures into the tissue for an immediate lifting and tightening impact. This procedure is especially effective in sites with significant volume loss such as around the jaw and the cheeks.

A primary benefit of this procedure is that the sutures encourage the generation of collagen and elastin in the treated sites. Upon healing from the procedure, the skin rebuilds its base so that the final outcome appears very natural as well as reverses multiple signs of aging.

How does the EuroThreads non-surgical face lift work?

Depending on the level of improvement necessary and the amount of tissue requiring treatment, three types of threads may be inserted into the skin. One thread type is most effective for reducing fine lines and firming the skin.

Another type of thread is beneficial for reshaping and contouring sagging facial areas. The third type of thread offers sustainable outcomes. The treatment provider will recommend which thread types will work best for the patient on the basis of their goals and facial characteristics.

This minimally-invasive facial rejuvenation procedure is an ideal option for patients who do not want to undergo the risks associated with general anesthesia and the downtime that traditional facelift surgery involves.

Patients experience both immediate and progressive outcomes as the tissue generates more collagen and elastin.

Non-Surgical Facelifts for Both Men and Women

Many women receive facelift surgery to mitigate signs of facial aging. But n0n-surgical facelifts can be an appealing option for men as well.

EuroThreads can help men who are concerned about lines, sagging skin, wrinkles, and poor skin elasticity achieve a more youthful facial appearance. Good candidates for this procedure have the following characteristics:

Patients can understand whether EuroThreads is appropriate for them during their consultation with the provider.

How does it work?

EuroThreads facelift technique creates a firmer and smoother skin appearance while offering a subtle lift to precise facial areas.

The biocompatible polydioxanone (PDO) threads are inserted underneath the skin where they continuously promote collagen synthesis. This brings about gradual enhancements of the outcomes over time in a natural manner.

Upon being inserted beneath the skin, these PDO threads act similar to a scaffold for the skin that enables it to hold together defying the effects of gravity.

The material of the thread is absorbable, and they will be reabsorbed within four to six months leaving behind a tighter and more youthful skin structure. The treatment outcomes will sustain for another 18 to 24 months.

Dr. Gregg Reger receives patients from Spring, TX, The Woodlands, and nearby areas for non-surgical facelift and other medical spa treatments.
